About body-worn cameras

A body-worn camera (BWC), also known as a body camera, is a video recording system that is typically used by law enforcement to record their interactions with the public or gather video evidence at crime scenes.

Wearable Camera Manager role

The Wearable Camera Manager is the role that is used to configure and manage body-worn camera (BWC) devices in Security Center. This includes configuring cameras or camera stations, adding users, uploading content to an Archiver, and setting the retention period for uploaded evidence.

This Security Center function is used when users do not or cannot upload their evidence data to the cloud (Genetec Clearance™), or when users want to access Security Center Archiver functions such as retention period.

Body-worn camera archives can then be searched, using the Archives task in Security Desk.

Genetec Clearance™ Uploader

The Genetec Clearance™ Uploader is an application that is used to automatically upload media from a body-worn camera or sync folder, or other devices into Genetec Clearance™ or a Security Center video archive depending on the .json config file that is used.
