You can configure federated entities as though they are local entities with the
Remote configuration task.
Before you begin
You must have remote Security
Center systems
federated on your system.
What you should know
Only entities federated from remote systems running Security
Center 5.8 GA and later can be configured from the
Federation™ host. The privileges you have on the remote
system are those granted to the user that the Federation™
role uses to connect to the remote system. On your local system, you must have the Remote
configuration privilege to run the Remote configuration
task.
To configure a federated entity:
Do one of the following:
From the Area view task, right-click a federated entity and
click Configure entity ().
The Remote configuration task opens automatically on the
configuration pages of the selected entity.
If the Remote
configuration task was connected to different federated system, you will
first be asked whether you wish to save the opened tasks. Click
Save if you want those tasks to be automatically loaded the
next time you log on with this user.
From the Config
Tool home page, open
the Remote configuration task and select the federated Directory
() you want to connect
to.
A remote Config
Tool session opens
inside the task workspace on the federated remote system.
This remote Config
Tool works
exactly like your local Config
Tool. The
tasks you can open and the entities you can view and modifiy depend on the access rights
and privileges granted to the Federation™ user on the
remote system.
To connect to a different remote system, click the Directory
drop-down list at the top of the task workspace, and select another federated Directory
().
