To monitor your cameras for tampering, you must configure integrity monitoring on each
camera.
What you should know
Camera integrity monitoring only supports PTZ cameras that are used as fixed cameras.
If you change the position of a camera, you must reset the integrity monitoring feature on
the camera so that the Camera Integrity Monitor can recalculate what is considered to
be the 'normal' camera view.
To configure integrity monitoring on a camera:
-
From the Config
Tool home page, open the Area
view task.
-
Select the camera to configure.
-
(Optional) Create a video thumbnail.
The video thumbnail is a reference image that the maintenance technician can use to
reset the camera to its original position when they fix a camera tampering issue. The
thumbnail is not used by the system for integrity monitoring.
NOTE: You cannot create nor
update the thumbnail if Encryption in transit and at rest is
enabled on your camera in the camera Recording page.
-
Click the Identity tab.
-
Inside the thumbnail area, click Play ().
-
Click Update thumbnail ().
-
Click Apply.
-
Click the Video analytics tab and set Camera
integrity monitoring to ON.
-
In the Selected preset list, select the sensitivity
preset.
The sensitivity preset determines how much the Camera Integrity Monitor tolerates
changes in the image. The default setting is Medium sensitivity. Switch to High
sensitivity preset if you are not getting the expected tampering events, or to
Low sensitivity if you are getting too many false positives.
-
Click Apply.
