Adding cameras to Auxiliary Archivers

For the Auxiliary Archiver to create video archives, you must add cameras to be controlled by the role.

What you should know

You cannot add federated cameras from Omnicast™ 4.x systems to the Auxiliary Archiver.
If you are using Windows Server 2008 or earlier, you can greatly improve your system performance by assigning a different multicast port to each camera.

To add a camera to the Auxiliary Archiver:

From the Config Tool home page, open the Video task.
Select the Auxiliary Archiver, click the Cameras tab, and click Add an item ().
In the dialog box that opens, select the cameras you want and click OK.

NOTE: It takes a few seconds for the selected cameras to be added. If the role is unable to add a camera in the given time, a failed status is indicated, and the camera is removed.
Click Apply.
To override the default recording settings on a camera:
1. Select the camera from the list and click Jump to ().
  The camera configuration page is selected.
2. From the Recording tab of the camera, select the tab that corresponds to the current Auxiliary Archiver.
3. Under Recording settings, click Custom settings, and make the necessary changes.
4. Click Apply.
